Flowerchild Mommy and Me

It snowed this week.

Oy. Just when I was gearing up for two weeks of intensive, spring themed sessions. The temperature drops and it snows, so I’ve been back to square one re-planning upcoming sessions to compensate for winter’s remergence.

One of my upcoming sessions though I am determined for it to feel like spring for, even if it doesn’t actually feel like spring is this girl. Her one year session is next week and I can. not. wait to see how much she has grown and changed and hug her sweet momma.

They moved to Florida shortly after Vivi’s 6 month session, but when I got a Snapchat message asking what my availability was for this certain March week that they would be in town, I was floored and honored Chelsey would think of me to photograph Vivian’s one year session even when they no longer live in the area.

Prepping for her upcoming session, has me dreaming of the magical-ness that was her 6 month session, with it’s hippie, earthy vibes that were 100% aligned with all the things I love, the weather was actually less than ideal that day.

It was a miserable, hot, humid mess and the bugs were out in full force. But Chelsey kept Vivian comfortable and happy in just a diaper cover and bow, and then we all three got in the water to cool off mid session, before finishing photos in a small patch of Black-Eyed Susans.

My free-spirited soul sang creative happiness of the laid back nature of this shoot. One of favorite photos from that came from this session you won’t actually find in this post, because it is a grainy iphone quality behind the scenes photos of Daniel holding Vivian in one arm and handling farm issues on the phone in the other, while Chelsey dried off.

I think what I love so much about it, is the rawness of our two worlds—farming and photography combining. You’ll get a chance to see it if I ever get our 2017 BTS blog post up. But until then, enjoy the actual session photos of Vivian’s 6 month.
