Every year Dan and I say we’re going to attend the Kentucky Derby, every year we book a wedding instead. This past year, not only did Tara and John’s wedding fall on Derby Day, it also fell on Cinco De Mayo. Perfect day for a big party, right?

I will tell you, I was not disappointed one bit that we missed Derby to shoot this wedding because it ended up raining cats and dogs ALL day. So instead of being wet and miserable at a race track, we shoot these gorgeous portraits in a nice and dry local greenhouse. *hair flip*

Also, this is why it’s always good to have a rain plan for portraits if you live in the southeast part of the U.S.
