Owensboro Engagement Session — Travis + Brooke

It’s wedding day for Travis and Brooke!

When we met for their final meeting the thing Brooke was most stressed about was the possibility for rain with their outdoor ceremony. I’m happy to report that it is the most beautiful Saturday I’ve seen in a while, complete with fall temps. I’m going to be honest, I wouldn’t have predicted this perfect high of 78° day since up until this we’ve all been melting under southeastern heat and humidity.

Let’s skip two seasons back, shall we. Hiiiiii Spring! Brooke and Travis’s engagement session was at one of my favorite local spots — The Western Kentucky Botanical Gardens. This place is completely run on volunteers and it continues to blow me away that every year it gets a little more stunning.

It was right before Easter when we met up for photos, and not much was blooming yet, but the red buds came in clutch and added romantic vibrancy to these beginning images.

Like Daniel and I, Brooke and Travis and serious about their dogs. All three joined their session. Daniel doesn’t normally come to engagement sessions, but I wanted to make sure Brooke and Travis got to have all their pups in photos, but also got a chance for this session to feel like a date.

When we took these, they were heavy in the middle of moving, along with working full time AND planning a wedding. Y’all that’s a lot of stress.

If you let it, an engagement session can be more than just practice for your wedding day portraits, it can be a great reason to hit pause on all the crazy of the outside world and reconnect in the love bubble you were in during the first days of your relationship.
