Since the beginning of my career as a wedding photographer, one of my goals has been to photograph a breakfast wedding. I love it when couples skip the super traditional to make their wedding one that represents them.

Enter Jake and Libby, Libby was a bridesmaid in one of my August 2017 weddings and then chose us to be her photographer for her January 2018 nuptials. I was instantly drawn to Libby not only because she was going to fulfill my brunch wedding dream, or that she rocked out her wedding planning for her January celebration in the same short timeline I did for my own wedding, but because her family is also from Oklahoma.

Even she attended OU, and I OSU — intense in-state rivals, it was so nice to be around someone who could relate to similar experiences as me! And when you’re 600 miles away from home, those things matter.

I loved how Libby accentuated the natural details of her wedding and reception spaces to flow with her winter wedding. Greenery, whites and reds go so beautifully when everything is already decorated for Christmas and make such a classic statement.
