It makes my heart so happy when y’all ask about my niece and check in to see how my sister is adjusting to motherhood. 99.9% of those who do don’t know her in person, have never ‘met’ Alexis online, but you know she’s important to me, so you ask, and that is just one of the many reasons why I have the best clientele.
My whole family came to visit in June to see us and the new house. My parent’s travel with their own accommodations, so we just parked their RV in our barn in order to help keep it cool, while my sister, brother-in-law and my 5-month old niece stayed in our guest room.
I was a little concerned how it was going to be with all of these people and only one shower in my house, but I just didn’t wash my hair for a week and it was fine. 😂
Some sacrifices are worth the peace.
As it goes when you’re a photographer, especially one that lives 500+ miles away from family, when everyone is together it’s photo session time.
If you’ve been following my photo journey of my niece Mila, you know the last post I have of her was in the hospital because that was the last I had seen her. Covid and just distance and life played a huge part of it, but I was so happy to see this precious girl again at 5-months-old.
If you haven’t seen my Mila posts, you can see them here:

Along with Mila, we also squeezed in a few portraits of just my parents, and then my parents with their first grandchild — wearing the onesie Alexis used to tell them she was pregnant.
What I really like about these images is historically my parent’s do not smile in photos, I loved being able to capture their natural expressions instead of their “photo faces.”
